The thickness is relative to the diameter. The thinnest is 5mm thick, increasing to 12.5mm thick on our biggest drums. Thicker is available on request.
All our mild steel shafts are made from bright EN8 grade material, our standard for stainless steel is 304 grade bright bar.
Yes. Send over a drawing and we will quote it. The options are limited but cater for 95% of all drums we regularly make.
Depending on order volume we would aim to make your drum within 2 days and ship out overnight so you would receive it on day 3. If it was going to take any longer than 4 days to receive we would call to discuss options before beginning manufacture. Expedited drums depending on size can be made same day if ordered before 12pm and shipped out overnight. Again this would need discussed to ensure it could be made in time for transport. Large orders may take longer, we would call to discuss and could arrange staggered deliveries if we were unable to cope with the volume.
These allow the shaft to be easily removed from the drum which can make future repairs a lot cheaper if you just need a new shaft without the whole drum needing replaced. Shaft clamps are particularly common on rubber coated drive drums or drums where welding the shaft could cause issues.
Carriage is built into the price of the drum, hence the more drums you order the lower the price becomes.
Depending on the weight we will ship heavier drums on pallets, these will need taken off with a forklift. Lighter drums will be sent via courier. If unsure contact us before ordering to find out. We can organise a courier with tail lift offloading at extra cost.
Yes. After creating an account you will automatically receive a certain level of discount, the more you buy the greater your discount level.
No. Like any service there will be someone that can do it cheaper. What we offer is very high quality drums with outstanding service.
As every drum we make is built to order, we do not accept returns. If there is an issue with your drum, we would replace it straight away and organise the return of the original for inspection. If there is a manufacturing error you would not be charged for the replacement. All of our drums undergo strict quality control measures to ensure they are fit for purpose, we cannot accept liability for drums ordered that are not fit for the intended application or have been damaged during installation.
Please call the office asap to discuss changes, due to the service we provide your drum may already be into production therefore we could not guarantee to accommodate any changes but would try our best.
No, during checkout you can opt to provide a reference code against your drum, you would then build up a library of orders with codes that you can easily identity and place repeat orders without needing to know all the sizes again.
Yes of course, we receive hundreds of drums a year that can often be repaired at a cheaper cost than replaced, if you can afford for the drum to be away for a week we would gladly take it to copy or even repair and return if it was viable.
Yes, we are based in Fife, Scotland and are happy to have local collections and can offer local deliveries free of charge if ordering through the website.
Unless requested all of our drums come as stock pipe finish on the OD, due to our highly precise manufacturing techniques tolerance would be within 2-3mm between shaft and outer shell. This is just tolerance on ovality on stock tube and can increase with dia. This is generally considered completely fine for the majority of conveyors, esp where just a belt is running on it. We do a lot of drums for industries requiring a 0.1mm tolerance for example papermaking. If this is required then please opt for crowning when selecting tracking options, and leave a not with the order to machine the drum after fabrication. The cost for this is the same as for crowning so price will be correct. Tolerance on lengths will be +/- 2mm.
Yes we stock RHP bearings in every style from 20mm to 80mm, what we don’t stock we can get within a day from our suppliers and send to you directly.
We work closely with local belting companies and can offer very quick turnaround on belting – PVC, PU, rubber and modular, alongside skirting, fasteners etc.
